The roles of a firm’s general counsel have dramatically shifted.
Over the course of the last several years, the roles of a firm’s general counsel have dramatically shifted, legal functions growing more complex as businesses expand and reach across international borders and jurisdictions. In today’s operating environment, legal counsels and chief compliance officers must contend with a diverse set of fields of issues, ranging from risk management and cross-border industry regulation to complex intellectual property issues in an increasingly digitised world.
Organisations need robust and proven experts who can think strategically…
To avoid pitfalls and succeed in this sort of environment, organisations need robust and proven experts who can think strategically, foresee future trends and act proactively in the interests of their firm. Additionally, legal executives must take a leadership role when it comes to ensuring that corporate ethics and integrity remain intact even as the law is used to its full advantage.
Since 1997, the Cooper Fitch legal team has worked with corporations, associations, NGOs and firms of various sizes to help attract, retain and develop leading general counsels, chief compliance officers and other legal professionals.
We can also help build and refine organisational structures and responsibilities, as well as develop executives and help support their career path as they work to keep their organisations insulated from multifaceted challenges in today’s complex economy.
