Duran joined Cooper Fitch in 2023 as a Principal Consultant on the Technology team with over 10 years of experience in technology recruitment and executive search. Since 2016 he has specialised in the recruitment of cybersecurity technical, operational and sales roles across both the Middle East and South Africa giving him an in-depth understanding of niche technology markets as well as the GCC jobs market.
Prior to recruitment, Duran started his successful career at Microsoft as a consultant then moved into leading the partner engagement activities for Sub-Saharan, West and Central Africa, eventually taking on the responsibility of a business, financial and quality analyst for the South African operations. He was able to build up a significant amount of knowledge of the technology industry over a 7-year period at Microsoft before moving into recruitment.

Decision Data Science Team Build – Global Payments Aggregator, UAE
Led the recruitment for a confidential senior mandate to build a decision and data science function which included market mapping, search strategy, sourcing, candidate assessment and analysis. The team build compromised, a chief risk officer and head of decision science, senior data scientists, data scientists, data engineers, as well as AI/ML engineers.
7+ hires – Pre IPO Vendor, EMEA
In line with the growth mandate, the engagement involved building a GTM team for emerging markets in the EMEA region which included VP sales of EMEA, channel sales, presales and sales engineering functions for locations such as Amsterdam, Israel, Singapore, Sweden and France.
15+ Senior Hires, Government Authority, UAE
Successfully supported all end to end talent mapping, recruitment, security assessments, clearances and salary negotiations, for executive and senior hires for a priority government establishment formed to oversee the technology transformation initiative across its key government entities. Roles included executives and heads for across emerging technology, cybersecurity and data.
