Ideally, all components in line, this process should take three months (including a one month notice period). However, every vertical of every industry differs, and yet again, each level of seniority differs too. We work on board level positions which can take over eight months to complete.

What you might want to consider is some deep-diving into research learning about the industry, the major players, the ideal companies you’d like to work for – don’t just read Wikipedia – hunt down reviews on Glassdoor and speak to your networks. It is often difficult to use a recruitment firm for this kind of switch, as our search strategies and client contract obligations (99% of the time) require us to find specific and niche industry experience – not just function and qualification. However, there certainly are businesses who have the resources, mainly being time and leadership to onboard talent into a new industry.
