LOGISTICS RECRUITMENT
Logistics recruitment tailored to distribution and transportation
The logistics, distribution and transportation sector has always been of significant importance across the Middle Eastern region with the sector rapidly evolving especially since 2019. A large part of this rapid change was due to the impact of the global COVID19 pandemic as the strict regional and global restrictions that were put in place increased e-commerce activity with several firms active in this sector opting for electric vehicle deliveries. It is estimated that sales from e-commerce channels will increase by 23% by 2022 resulting in higher demand for logistics firms. This sector has proven that it can adapt effectively to travel and delivery restrictions and digitalisation as well as stricter customer demands which have forced the sector to improve efficiency across all operations.
Cooper Fitch has noticed that in order to ensure that logistics organisations can keep up with a highly active and evolving economy there will be an increase in demand for experts with specific expertise across functions such as transportation, inventory control, warehousing and storage, outbound logistics and last mile delivery. Certain industries will have specific requirements such as professionals who specialise in regional vaccine logistics, automation of warehouses and distribution centers and experts within the 4PL specialist fields.
In the short to mid-term logistics companies will need to implement more advanced digital technologies to increase operational efficiency and must focus on hiring professionals who can support firms by streamlining their day-to-day operations and helping them reduce operational costs.
